Privacy Policy

SportLark is a sports scores, stats and forecasts app. You don’t need an account to use it, we don’t set cookies for visitors, we show no ads, and we never sell or share anything about you.

Who we are

SportLark (the website at sportlark.com and the SportLark apps for iPhone and Android) is run by KytePush (“we”, “us”). This policy covers the website and the apps. Questions: kytepush@gmail.com.

The short version

  • No sign-up needed. Everything works without an account.
  • No advertising, no ad trackers, no third-party analytics, no cookies for visitors.
  • We count visits with our own measurement, which never stores your IP address or a permanent ID.
  • The optional Google sign-in only syncs your settings between devices.
  • We don’t take bets and never see bets you place anywhere else.
  • You can delete your account and its data yourself, in the app, at any time.

What we measure (analytics)

To learn which screens are useful and to keep the site fast, SportLark records anonymous usage with its own first-party measurement. For each visit it can record:

  • which screen was opened and simple actions on it (for example opening a game, sharing, or changing a setting);
  • the kind of device, the operating system and browser (name and major version only), the screen size, language and time zone, and whether the app is installed;
  • the country, region and city your connection appears to come from, worked out by our host at the moment of the request;
  • the website, app or campaign link that sent you here (the site name and campaign tags, not the full address);
  • page speed and error reports.

Your IP address and the full browser “user agent” are used for an instant to work out the items above and to keep bots out, then thrown away: they are never written down. To count unique visitors, the server turns them into a code that changes every day; the secret behind each day’s code is deleted within 48 hours, so a code can never be traced back to you or linked across days.

Actions within one visit are grouped by a random visit ID that lives only in that browser tab and is replaced after 30 minutes of inactivity. Your browser also keeps one small note in its local storage (not a cookie): the day you first visited, which site sent you that first time and which sport you landed on, and how many days since your last visit, so we can count returning visitors. If your browser sends “Do Not Track” or “Global Privacy Control”, that note is never written and nothing links one visit to the next.

Detailed visit records are deleted after 90 days at most; only totals (for example “visits per day”) are kept longer. Analytics never contains your account, name or email. More detail: Cookies & analytics.

What stays on your device

Your teams, pinned sports, odds format, colour and goal-flash settings and saved games are stored in your browser or app on this device, as is a cache of recent scores so the app opens fast. They are not sent to us unless you sign in. Clearing the site’s data (or deleting the app) removes them.

The optional account

Where sign-in is offered, you can sign in with Google to keep your settings in step across devices. Signing in is never required. If you do:

  • Google tells us your email address, your name and your profile photo. We don’t receive your password, contacts or anything else from your Google account.
  • We keep: your email address and sign-in record (to sign you in), your name and profile photo, when you joined and last visited, and your SportLark settings (teams, saved games, display choices, and notification choices, which are stored only: nothing is sent yet).
  • We use them only to sign you in and sync your settings. Never for marketing, never sold, never shared.
  • Your sign-in session is kept in your browser’s or app’s local storage, not in a cookie.

The account lives in SportLark’s own database, separate from any other app.

Who processes data for us

We use a small number of service providers, only to run SportLark:

  • Vercel (United States): hosts the website, its servers and the storage that serves our data and images. Like any web host, it handles your IP address to deliver pages and may keep short-lived technical logs.
  • Supabase (United States): the database that holds the anonymous analytics and, if you sign in, your account.
  • Google: only if you choose to sign in with Google, under Google’s own privacy policy.
  • Apple and Google app stores: if you install an app, the store handles the download under its own terms.

Scores, stats and odds are fetched by our servers from public data feeds; your browser does not contact those feeds. A few photos may load from the site that hosts them (see Credits).

Feedback

If you send a message through the feedback page, we keep what you wrote, the page you came from, the kind of device (phone, tablet or computer) and, only if you give one, your email address so we can reply. We don’t keep your IP address or set a cookie. Messages are deleted after about a year; to have yours deleted sooner, email us.

What we never do

  • Sell or “share” personal information (as California law uses those words), or use it for targeted advertising.
  • Show ads or load advertising or social-media trackers.
  • Take bets, hold money, or receive information about bets you place elsewhere.
  • Send marketing email.

Deleting your data

Signed in, open More, then Your account, then “Delete my account”. Your account, profile and saved settings are deleted from our database straight away and you are signed out. This device keeps its own copy of your settings until you clear it. Full steps, and how to ask by email if you can’t sign in: Delete your account.

Anonymous analytics can’t be tied to you, so there is nothing of yours in it to find or delete; it expires on its own within 90 days.

Your rights

Depending on where you live (for example California, other US states, the UK or the EU), you may have the right to ask what personal information we hold about you, to get a copy, to correct it, to delete it, or to object to how it’s used. Email kytepush@gmail.com and we’ll answer within 30 days. We will never treat you differently for asking. If you are in the UK or EU, you can also complain to your local data-protection authority.

For accounts, the legal basis is providing the service you asked for; for anonymous analytics, our legitimate interest in keeping SportLark useful and fast, with the safeguards above.

Where data is kept and for how long

Data is stored in the United States. Account data is kept until you delete the account. Detailed analytics records are kept up to 90 days, daily visitor codes’ secrets under 48 hours, and totals for as long as they are useful. Hosting logs follow our host’s short retention.

We protect data with encryption in transit, database access rules that let each account read only its own data, and server-only keys.

Children

SportLark is not meant for children under 13 and we don’t knowingly collect personal information from them. Betting-related content is for adults 21 and over (see Responsible gaming). If you think a child has created an account, write to kytepush@gmail.com and we’ll delete it.

Changes

If we change what we collect or how we use it, we’ll update this page and its date first. A significant change for account holders will be shown in the app before it applies.
